2003 Marston Family Vineyard

2003 Marston Family Vineyard

Only the best fruit from selected blocks of Michael Marston's 40-acre Spring Mountain vineyard are used for this powerful, multilayered red, its blockbuster fruit framed by firm but velvety tannins.

2003 Cabernet Sauvignon
Profound inky dark color.  Intense and focused, the nose exhibits flavors of black currant, violet, acacia, blueberry and minerals.  The aromas of stones, berries, wild flowers and earth are packed into a well structured wine with intense structured tannins.

“This wine showcases the distinction of the specific blocks we select and cultivate by hand.  Blocks 3A, 3C and 6A are the heart of thevineyard expressing the very best characteristics of the Marston mountain fruit. Though Marston Family Vineyard is part of the Spring Mountain Appellation, it has its own unique microclimatedue to the location sitting south easterly facing, exhibits dark berry fruits and is harvested later than most other vineyards in Napa Valley. Intense and focused, the palate exhibits flavors of black currant, violet, acacia & blueberry. The aromas of stones, berries, wildflowers and earth are packed into the wine with complex, well structured tannins. This wine will age well for many years.”
– Winemaker, Philippe Melka

“The 2003 is a huge, concentrated, inky blue/purple-tinged Cabernet Sauvignon revealing a sweet nose of acacia flowers intermixed with blueberries, minerals and underbrush.  A rich attack, this wine possesses outstanding potential.  The vineyard produces wines guided by well known Napa Valley wine guru, Philippe Melka.  Five hundred cases of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon produced.”
